Women & the Wind is a documentary that follows three women as they sail across the North Atlantic on a 50-year-old wooden catamaran named Mara Noka. The primary motivation for this voyage was Kiana's previous experience of witnessing plastic pollution during a North Atlantic crossing in 2019. Thus, the journey in the documentary is focused on following the path of plastic pollution as it travels via the Gulf Stream towards Europe.
Women & the Wind is more than just a sailing film; it's a powerful illustration of stepping outside of one's comfort zone and pursuing one's dreams. The journey across the Atlantic becomes a metaphor for overcoming personal obstacles and finding harmony with the natural world.
