EMERGING FILMMAKERS CONTEST
Are you an aspiring filmmaker with a story to tell? Submit your short film for the chance to have your work showcased at the Coast Film & Music Festival, connect with fellow young creatives, and win prizes.
The Emerging Filmmakers Showcase is open to middle and high school students of all experience levels. Whether it's your first film or your latest project, we want to see your creativity shine!

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
We believe in the power of film to educate, inspire, and empower the next generation. Through partnerships with schools, we bring filmmaking education into the classroom, helping students develop creative storytelling skills while exploring important social and environmental issues.
Whether students are picking up a camera for the first time or refining their craft, our programs give young filmmakers the tools and confidence to share their unique perspectives.

SCHOOL PRESENTATIONS
During the festival, we partner with local schools to curate classroom presentations with athletes, filmmakers, and changemakers to inspire and educate kids about the power of film. Past speakers include: Greg Long, Rich German, Chad Nelson, Adelia Sandoval, Matt Costa, Elena Hight, Kai Jones, Shaun Thomson, Erich Roepke, Timmy O’Neil, Jeremy Jones, Obi Kaufmann, and others.
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP DAY
During the festival, we invite school partners to bring their students to the festival grounds for a field trip focused on filmmaking, storytelling, art, and environmental education. Local organizations, filmmakers, and artists showcase various pathways within land and sea preservation for students to get involved, and ultimately empower them to become environmental stewards.
CONTINUED OPPORTUNITIES
Every year, we award one standout student filmmaker a scholarship of $1,500 to continue their work. We are committed to growing this program and giving more opportunities and scholarships to young filmmakers on the rise.
