Synopisis

A ride before dawn in a crowded truck bed. The sharpening of machetes and smell of sweat. A shared meal in the fields among colleagues. Deft and knowing hands slice through towers of sugar cane. Ash rains down as the sun dips below the horizon of the cañaverales of Mante, Tamaulipas, México, and another day ends for the workers of “Equipo #3”.

Pablo Mejia is a first-generation Mexican-American film director. A 2024 Soros Scholar, Pablo is currently an MFA Candidate at NYU Tisch's Graduate School for the Arts.
