DIRECTOR SPOTLIGHT: Amie Engerbretson

Amie is one of those globe-trotting adventurers who effortlessly switches between being in front of and behind the camera. She's got her hands in everything from films to print to videos, and even hosts her own podcast! But she's not just about crushing it athletically; she's also super passionate about fighting climate change. In fact, her dedication to the cause earned her the 2021 Alliance Member of the Year award from Protect Our Winters for making a real difference in climate action.

We were extremely honored to screen the world premiere of her latest film ‘The Hypocrite’ last year at Coast Film and Music Festival 2023.

Embracing Imperfect Advocacy: World Premiere ‘The Hypocrite’

About ‘The Hypocrite’

In a world where environmental consciousness is increasingly at the forefront, the clash between passion and responsibility becomes a complex battleground. Amie Engerbretson's film, ‘The Hypocrite,’ delves into this intricate landscape, sparking contemplation on the challenges faced by environmental activists who also indulge in high-carbon activities.

"The Hypocrite" presents a compelling narrative that forces viewers to confront their own actions and beliefs. At its core lies a pressing question: Can one truly advocate for the environment while partaking in activities that contribute significantly to carbon emissions?

Check out our interview with Amie, Todd Jones, Jeremy Jones and Pat Parnell after the world premiere screening.
