Healing the Helper
Founder, Waves for Water
Jon Rose reflects on fifteen years of humanitarian work providing clean water across the globe. Drawing from personal experience with trauma and resilience, he explores what it means to heal the healer and introduces UNPACKING, his forthcoming documentary series about confronting the unseen weight of service and rediscovering connection through indigenous wisdom.

Coast Summit ’24 gathered innovators, leaders, and changemakers working toward a more sustainable future, with powerful panels. Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe and A New Earth Project founder Wes Carter spoke on the power of storytelling to create change, while Stoked Plastics, Bureo, and Sway shared solutions that transform waste into valuable resources. Surfrider Foundation CEO Dr. Chad Nelson celebrated the success of Laguna Beach’s marine protected area, and voices from Latino Outdoors and the Athletes as Activists panel highlighted cultural connection, indigenous rights, and the need to rethink outdoor recreation. The day closed with a shared sense of purpose—building a healthier planet together.
COAST SUMMIT ‘23
Coast Summit ’23 marked the debut of the Coast Film Foundation’s inaugural environmental symposium, presented by A New Earth Project in collaboration with The Momentum and other key partners. The day brought together world-class adventure athletes, award-winning filmmakers, and industry leaders who paired excellence in their fields with a deep commitment to activism and storytelling. Panels explored the importance of Marine Protected Areas, the role of sustainable design, land preservation, and the balance between policy-making and consumer action. The event featured perspectives from influential voices like Dr. Chad Nelsen, Kai Lenny, Kimmy Fasani, Ramon Navarro, Josh “Bones” Murphy, and many more, alongside creative showcases from Laguna College of Art and Design students.
