Do Good Village
Driven by a vision to connect festival attendees with mission-aligned organizations, the Do Good Village is dedicated to environmental preservation of the land and sea, and this year we’ve included a packed schedule of events! Think: all natural non-toxic tie dye, community collage, native plant cyanotypes, learning about the importance of kelp, storytelling speaker series + workshops, and so much more.
Our objective is to motivate, educate, and enable individuals to make a lasting, positive difference through interactive experiences. If you are looking to get your hands dirty, move, get inspired, or take a break from watching films, this is the place for you!
WHEN: November 8th + 9th, 2025 at Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach from 11 AM - 4 PM.

WHAT ELSE: At the Do Good Village, you’ll find talented storytellers, engaging workshops, and immersive, hands-on experiences, all while being available to help you get to know these remarkable organizations that actively champion our planet through both words and deeds. SATURDAY 11/08
11 AM - 12 PM STORYTELLERS: Kelp Panel with Laguna Bluebelt Coalition, Sequoias of the Sea and The Kelp We Breathe
Join scientists, community leaders and filmmakers for a panel discussion on the vital role kelp forests play along California’s coast and the inspiring efforts underway to restore and protect them.
12 - 1 PM WORKSHOP: LOCA
Learn the art of watercolor in this interactive ocean-themed painting workshop. Beginners and professionals are welcome.
1 - 1:30 PM STORYTELLERS: Darieus Legg
Join award-winning storyteller Darieus Legg for an interactive session on the art of stoke and how to find your Stoke.
1:30 - 2:30 PM WORKSHOP: Surfrider Foundation + Costa
Make a customized reusable stamped tote bag. All materials included!
2:30 - 3:30 PM STORYTELLERS: Blue Latitudes
Join us for a presentation from co-founder Amber Sparks on how offshore platforms function as artificial reefs, a virtual dive on an oil platform, and even a chance to snap a selfie with a remotely operated vehicle.
3:30 - 4 PM STORYTELLERS: To Be Announced
SUNDAY 11/09
11 AM - 12 PM WORKSHOP: Drawing for the Planet
Learn about local wildlife and learn step-by-step how to draw a few notable animals.
12 - 1 PM WORKSHOP: Protect Our Winters (POW)
Come tie-dye with the POW crew using all non-toxic natural dyes. Bring your favorite t-shirt or grab a CFMF t-shirt as a souvenir.
1 - 2 PM WORKSHOP: Big Green
Learn about regenerative agriculture and plant some seeds to take home with you! All materials provided.
2 - 3 PM STORYTELLERS + WORKSHOP: Laguna Canyon Foundation
Learn about native plants, then create a beautiful cyanotype sunprint to take home.
