Synopisis

VELA: South Pacific is a three part series presented by YETI, featuring professional surfer John Florence. On the heels of his third surfing world title, Episode 1 tracks John, his wife Lauryn and one year old son as they set off from New Zealand to sail the South Pacific on an open-ended journey. In many ways, it's a modern look at what surfing used to be: exploring remote locations, new ways of living, new waves, and returning home to tell the story.

Production Team

John John Florence is a 3x World Champion surfer and 2x Olympian with a passion for sharing his stories through film. Previous projects he has directed include View From a Blue Moon, Twelve, and the original VELA series. Born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu, his life is spent in large part in and around the water. John is also the founder of the eponymous outdoor apparel brand Florence.
